Your Safety and Wellbeing on Your Trip

At Dream Destinations Travel Agency, your health, safety, and peace of mind are our top priorities. We operate in a wide variety of countries around the world, each with its own standards and local regulations that may differ from those you are used to at home.

While we provide as much information as possible about local conditions, we also encourage you to conduct your own research about your destinations and any potential risks. The following guidance is designed to help you have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable trip.

Government Travel Advice

We closely monitor travel guidance from the FCDO and other reputable sources. This advice covers both general and specific risks and can change without notice.

In some cases, sudden changes in guidance may require us to adjust itineraries or, rarely, cancel trips. Any decisions made are always with your safety and security as our priority.

Personal Security

While most destinations are safe, some countries may have higher levels of crime. Visitors can sometimes be targeted, so we recommend:

  • Avoid displaying valuables such as cameras, phones, or expensive jewellery.

  • Keep bags close and securely fastened at all times.

  • Be cautious of distractions such as spilled drinks or strangers offering help.

  • Use hotel safes for passports and money, keeping a separate photocopy or digital image of your passport.

Always follow the advice of your guides and hotel staff, particularly when exploring independently or at night. Be alert in crowded areas, and avoid demonstrations or large gatherings during religious or political events.

Activities

Local safety standards for activities may differ from those at home, or may not be regulated at all. To stay safe:

  • Follow instructions and wear any provided safety equipment, including helmets, life jackets, or masks.

  • If you have safety concerns, do not participate and report them immediately.

  • When observing wildlife or animals, maintain a safe distance and never attempt to feed or touch them.

Road Safety

Be cautious when crossing roads, particularly in busy towns and cities. Traffic may come from unexpected directions, and drivers may not always stop at pedestrian crossings.

Fire and Gas Safety

Upon arrival at your accommodation, familiarise yourself with fire procedures, escape routes, and nearest exits.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is invisible, odourless, and highly toxic. Gas-powered appliances, heaters, and open fires can produce CO if poorly installed or maintained. Signs of incomplete combustion include yellow or orange flames instead of crisp, blue flames.

Symptoms of CO poisoning—headache, nausea, dizziness, lethargy—can resemble flu or alcohol effects. Severe poisoning can cause a cherry-red skin colour. If CO exposure is suspected, move to fresh air immediately and call for medical help.

Consider bringing a portable carbon monoxide alarm to ensure safety while sleeping.

Balconies

Balcony heights and gaps may differ from standards in Europe or North America. Please supervise children carefully and notify us if you would like an alternative room due to safety concerns.

At Dream Destinations, your journey is our responsibility.

Following these guidelines will help ensure a safe, worry-free, and unforgettable experience.
